JSIME COLLECTIVE takes a minimalist and sophisticated approach to luxury streetwear. Rooted in experimentation and exploration, JSIME™ applies the best manufacturing techniques to create elevated aesthetics.
A Miami-native brand, JSIME™ studies the introspective journey towards the liberation of the shadow-self. Every piece compels you to look inwards, and peel off the layers that shelter your true self, while maintaining an unpretentious approach to style.
JSIME COLLECTIVE delivers exclusive capsules throughout the year, outside of any fashion calendar. They don’t mass produce; they don’t run with fashion calendars; they have their own agenda they like to follow.
"I’ve always been interested in fashion; thus, I think I liked the idea of creating my own styles and telling my stories through my designs."
How do you stay inspired?
Lots of visual stimulation. Creativity is a muscle, so I think it’s imperative to be involved in as much art-related activities as possible; this will keep a constant flow of ideas running.
Who are your design influences?
I’ve always admired the work of Rick Owens and Yoshi Yamamoto. I like to think my style is a fusion of their work and message in some capacity
What’s your favorite type of clothing to design?
I love designing athleisure. There is something so freeing about designing comfortable clothing that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. It is also a very versatile medium because it works well with patterns or plain aesthetics.
What is your favorite color to work with?
As you may noticed from looking at my brand, Black is my favorite color to design. I take black as a mental estate rather than a color; To me black helps express so much more with so very little. It allows you to communicate your entire message without tarnishing the delivery of it with unnecessary nuances.
What advice would you give to someone interested in fashion design?
I think having a great support system is vital. Gather all your trusted manufacturers, tools and resources early to prepared yourself for success. Be organized and learn as much as possible from everyone you meet; and stay humble, you can always learn something new from someone along the way.
