Mini Interview with Marta Pichlak-Miarka, co founder

What is your source of inspiration?
I am inspired by everyday life and objects that surround me. We created Carbonnique because we couldn’t find beauty device that would be esthetically on par with our favorite beauty products. We wanted to create one that felt like “it bag” of tools. Carbonnique was inspired by calligraphy pens and movement of esthetician hands.

How did you create your statement of art beauty product?
Carbonnique is all about your everyday facial sensation. We believe that you can have a facial experience at home that brings joy and pleasure to your routine that feels nothing like routine.

How would you describe your artistic style?
Carbonnique is combines chic minimalism with functional design. It is as important what we included in our tool as what we left out. Everything about our tool is very intentional from the ergonomic design that mimics esthetician facial techniques to sustainably sources walnut wood and biocompatible technical ceramic and grooved heads of the massaging balls.

What is the biggest learning experience you have had?
As a business founder you never stop learning. Our biggest learning experience is that everything is ”figure-out-able". Even if you feel stuck or nothing goes as planned if you have enough patience, grit and persistence you will find a way to make it work.

What is a cause that is important to you?
Carbonnique was created with sustainability at the core. Our wooden handle is made of FSC certified walnut wood and the way we manufacture our products supports better outcomes for forests, planet and people. Our packaging is also FSC certified and we intentionally opted out from using any polybags and foils on our individual items. We support Jane Goodall Insitute in their mission to protect, replant and restoration of forests around the world. We believe that the only way to more sustainable consumption is using fewer products and that is why our mission is to educate consumers about supportive skincare-skincare that supports skin’s inherent functions via massage and lymphatic drainage. Our tools are built to last and bring joy and pleasure to at home beauty routines that feel anything but routine.
