BASSIA is a contemporary outerwear label redefining faux fur through luxury-level materials, specialized craftsmanship, and modern silhouettes. Born from its founders’ search for faux fur that could rival the softness, movement, and visual depth of the real thing, the brand works with premium silky fibers selected for their natural-looking finish and exceptionally soft hand.

Produced in small quantities, BASSIA coats are made by a specialist manufacturer with more than 20 years of experience in traditional fur construction. Each design undergoes multiple prototypes and employs specialized stitching techniques typically associated with real fur, creating nearly invisible seams, refined fits, and lightweight comfort. Signature styles reinterpret mink, sable, fox, raccoon, shearling, and snow hare textures across statement coats, relaxed bombers, scarves, and accessories.

BASSIA occupies an accessible-luxury space. The label has been worn by Mara Lafontan, Viktoria Varga, Valentina Vignali, Merve Gorgoz, and other international fashion personalities.

Who are you? What’s your brand?

BASSIA is a Premium Faux Fur Outerwear brand, creating design pieces from faux fur, which is made with high-quality, silky and soft fibers, making it beautifully smooth, warm, natural-looking and different from most faux furs currently available on the market. It has none of the typical polyester shine or synthetic feel of faux fur.

BASSIA’s coats are made at a factory with more than 20 years of experience in producing real fur coats. We use a specialized stitching technique that is traditionally used only for real furs, making the seams almost invisible and the coats exceptionally comfortable to wear.

What’s inspiring you right now?

Right now, BASSIA is inspired by Old Hollywood, reimagined in a modern way.

We love the idea of a glamorous, confident woman who still feels modern but not like she is wearing a costume. It’s about bringing that old Hollywood glamour into everyday life and making luxury something you can wear every day.

One of BASSIA’s inspirations is the iconic 1946 film Gilda, starring Rita Hayworth. We love her femininity, confidence and timeless style, and wanted to bring a touch of that feeling into our collection while keeping it fresh and modern.

Favorite piece you’ve ever made?

One of our favourite pieces in the collection is the Rosie coat. It combines plain faux mink with patchwork faux mink in different shades of brown and has vintage vibe with modern feel.

Coat has a strong, modern design with oversized raglan shoulders, a large stand-up collar and an elasticated waist that helps define the silhouette. It’s an easy go-to coat for everyday wear, and we especially love how it looks on the busy streets of New York.
