"I love the idea of creating pieces that carry meaning — something people can cherish or that simply lift their mood."
How did you become interested in fashion design?
I’ve always had an interest in accessories growing up – especially sunglasses, headwear, and football boots. That passion eventually led me to sketch my own designs, particularly football boots. I also loved using Nike ID as a kid to create custom designs using Nike’s silhouettes.
What's your favorite thing about being a fashion designer?
What excites me most is that if I grow to the level I aim to reach as a designer, I’ll have the ability to give back to various communities through the power of fashion. I’m not quite there yet, but I love that fashion can be a vehicle for that. And I love the idea of creating pieces that carry meaning — something people can cherish or that simply lift their mood through a bit of retail therapy.
Who are your design influences?
My biggest inspiration by far is Virgil Abloh. As a fellow Ghanaian diasporan, he used design to make an impact across multiple creative spaces. He was also a huge connector and supporter of people. I was lucky enough to watch him DJ just before he sadly passed. His legacy will live on forever — I actually plan to honor him in an upcoming collection. Rest in Power.
What's your favorite color to work with?
Definitely black. As much as my mum wishes I’d wear more color, you can’t help what you love…
What's your favorite fashion decade?
It would have to be the '90s. Even though I was young, I love the aesthetic, the characters – especially in music – and the vibe and silhouettes. Not just in mainstream fashion, but also in football fashion from that era.
