GEORGETTE

GEORGETTE is a refined womenswear label rooted in Moldova, founded in 1997 by designer Georgeta Mir, a London College of Fashion  educated creative whose early atelier practice established a reputation for precision tailoring and an exacting understanding of the female silhouette. Evolving from a made-to-measure studio into a vertically integrated production house, the brand today merges European craftsmanship with scalable, responsible manufacturing.

Defined by romantic dresses and elevated wardrobe essentials, GEORGETTE’s signature balances 1950s-inspired structure with modern femininity  fluid yet controlled, delicate yet architectural. Collections are developed using premium natural and blended fabrics, including silk, lace, cotton, wool, and viscose, selected for drape, durability, and tactile richness.

All pieces are designed and produced in Moldova, supported by ISO 14001 and SMETA 4 Pillar certifications, alongside initiatives such as solar-powered production and fabric repurposing in partnership with Italy’s Miroglio Group. Positioned within the contemporary premium segment, GEORGETTE offers timeless, investment-driven pieces that privilege fit, fabric, and enduring elegance over trend.

"We design with real women in mind."

GEORGETTE
MINI INTERVIEW

What’s your design philosophy?
At its core, the brand is built on a philosophy of refined femininity — not fragile, not performative, but assured. The Georgette woman dresses to express, not to impress. Her style is intentional, understated, and quietly powerful.

What’s your process for designing a new collection?
Each collection begins with a clear narrative: who the Georgette woman is becoming and what she needs next. Rather than reacting to trends, we define an emotional direction — balancing softness, structure, and modern femininity — and build the collection with purpose and precision.

How important is sustainability in your designs?
Sustainability is embedded in both our design and production processes. We are ISO 14001 certified and SMETA 4-Pillar audited, use solar energy in production, and repurpose leftover fabrics into accessories. We also collaborate with Italian textile group Miroglio, known for incorporating recycled materials into high-quality fabrics.

How do you stay up-to-date with fashion trends?
We combine industry insight with direct customer feedback. Alongside trend forecasting platforms and textile fairs such as Première Vision, we rely heavily on real-time input from our showroom clients, social media analytics, and in-store interactions. This allows us to understand what modern women are truly responding to — from elevated minimalism to romantic statement pieces

How do you balance creativity with wearability in your designs?
We design with real women in mind. Every piece must translate beyond the runway into everyday life — combining strong design identity with comfort, functionality, and longevity.
