Tell us about your passion for fashion, how and when it started?
I used to spend countless hours drawing cartoon characters as a kid. Many were the fashionable characters from the TV shows I grew up with. In the midst of my Art School education for Visual Design, I spent a summer in NYC and took an intensive Fashion Illustration course at Parsons. For 2 months, 5 days a week, from 9 to 5 we drew models in amazing outfits all day long. It was a glorious time and I’ve had a major passion for fashion ever since.
What is the secret of making garments that people love wearing?
Well, I’m a bit of a comfort snob, fashion is a second career for me and honestly I’m designing for myself at this point. Everything we make is something I'm excited about and wear also. We're continually exploring the space between relaxation and refinement, comfort and effortless style. We use the softest, most sustainable materials we can source and we thrive on making small batch collections with unique details. We try to live up to our motto with every piece: Zenzee creates well-crafted, affordable pieces that people love wearing.
