DESCRIPTION
Lips began with an encounter at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the artist was struck by a fragment of an ancient Egyptian sculpture from which only a pair of beautifully formed lips remained. That fragment became a meditation on absence, identity, and the stories that survive only in part. The work considers women across centuries whose lives and experiences extend far beyond what history - or the visible surface - has preserved.
