"We’re expanding Ivy Swimwear into more retail spaces and lifestyle categories — beachwear, accessories, and resort-ready apparel. "
What’s your design philosophy?
Every Ivy piece should make a woman feel confident, sexy, and effortlessly put together. I believe in designs that balance femininity with structure — delicate lace, cheeky silhouettes, and details that elevate a simple swim moment into a lifestyle statement.
What’s the most important skill for a fashion designer?
Vision. You can learn sewing, marketing, or digital design — but vision is something you feel. You have to know who you are as a brand and stay authentic even as trends shift.
What’s your process for designing a new collection?
It always begins with a story — a destination, color, or muse. I build a moodboard, choose a palette that captures the feeling, and start sketching. Then we move into sampling, fittings, and small refinements until every detail — from the metal charms to the trim — feels true to the story.
What’s the most challenging aspect of being a designer?
Balancing creativity with production realities. Sometimes the most beautiful ideas aren’t the most practical, and you have to find clever ways to achieve the same magic within manufacturing limits and timelines.
What’s your favorite color to work with?
I always come back to cream and gold — they feel timeless, romantic, and luxurious. They photograph beautifully against any skin tone.
