ALESSIA ALIZÈ

Inspired by anarcho-punk style, the Alessia Alizè brand incorporates piercings, chains, and unconventional elements into eyewear fashion, creating an innovative and nonconformist aesthetic. The brand embodies a mindset that embraces a new philosophy: inclusive, freer, and breaking away from societal stereotypes, indeed the frames’ shapes, materials, and colors are captivating and trictly genderless.

The brand is created by young designer Alessia Alizè, who comes from a long family tradition of handcrafted eyewear. The eyewear collection proposed is an expression of freedom, encouraging you to break free from stereotypes and embrace your personal style without shame. The brand’s philosophy also emphasizes environmental sustainability, using bioacetates in its designs.

MINI INTERVIEW

How did you become interested in fashion design?
My passion for fashion design emerged while working in my family’s company, which specializes in the design and production of eyewear frames. Immersed in a creative environment with a mix of French and Italian background, I was inspired to develop a range of ideas that ultimately led me to launch my own brand.

How important is sustainability in your designs?
Sustainability is a cornerstone of my brand. In light of the current environmental challenges, I believe it is no longer acceptable to turn a blind eye. That’s why I use eco-sustainable acetates for my frames. Equally important is ethics; my designs will never incorporate materials derived from animals. Instead, I am committed to oMering alternative solutions that respect all forms of life.

What do you think are the most important skills for a fashion designer?
I believe the most essential skills for a designer are originality, a constant drive for selfimprovement, and, above all, a strong vision to pursue—both aesthetically and ethically. It’s crucial to have a clear ideal that guides every design decision. Equally important is the ability to draw inspiration from all sources, even constructive criticism, seeing it as an opportunity for growth and refinement.

What's the most challenging aspect of being a fashion designer?
The most challenging aspect of being a fashion designer, especially when managing a brand as unconventional as mine, is avoiding the trap of mediocrity and, above all, ensuring that my work remains fresh and original without becoming repetitive. It requires constant innovation and a deep commitment to pushing creative boundaries, all while staying true to the core identity of the brand.

What's your favorite fashion decade?
I am deeply drawn to anarcho-punk fashion, which emerged in the 70s and 80s, both for its aesthetic and its strong political and social commitment. Many of the values expressed by this movement are reflected in my brand. Aesthetically, I am articularly inspired by elements such as piercings, chains, and plant-based leathers, which resonate with my vision of bold and rebellious design.

What's next for you in your fashion design career?
I have a broad vision for what my brand can become and the values it can represent. As a result, I plan to expand beyond eyewear, the sector in which it was born, to explore new industries and opportunities.
