What do you love about being a fashion designer?
Fashion design has the potential to empower individuals by providing both protection and a means of self-expression, similar to armor or a second skin. By creating clothing, one can greatly modify another person's appearance or behavior. For instance, designing a masculine or edgy style for a woman can communicate a message of confidence and dominance, or by helping someone to achieve their fashion goals and change their life, fashion design can serve as a powerful tool for empowerment.
How would you describe INF’s aesthetics?
The brand INF embodies more than just fashion; it embodies culture and art. Our products go beyond mere stylish clothing and accessories, as they are infused with a modern twist on Taiwan's traditional culture. Our goal is to merge these two elements and create a unique blend. Our talented designers have skillfully crafted our clothing with seamless lines, allowing for shape-shifting capabilities, such as a bag that can transform into trousers or a suit that can convert into a dress using a mechanical structure. We encourage our customers to invest in quality pieces rather than purchasing numerous items that will eventually end up as waste. By doing so, we strive to support the movement towards zero-waste fashion and positively impact the world.
When are you the most inspired?
Every time I engage in reading a book or viewing a stage performance, I experience an emotional reaction to anything that stirs my feelings.
How would you describe your artistic style?
Initially, the appearance is seemingly gender-neutral, rugged, and untamed. However, upon further scrutiny, one can identify gentle and intricate aspects such as romance. The style merges both traditional and modern influences, resulting in a blend of neutral and contrasting aesthetics that evoke the image of a black sun.
Black or white?
Undoubtedly, black is the most dominant and composed color, effortlessly blending with other shades and assimilating their nature. This similarity to fashion is comparable to how it discreetly propels society forward.
