ON-KYEONG SEONG

On-Kyeong Seong is originally from Seoul, South Korea. She is an artist, primarily a mixed media artist, working and living in Boston. She graduated from School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University receiving MFA degree and BFA from Lesley University, Boston. She derives her mixed-media works from nature, biology, microscopic forms and the human body. She transforms this imagery into lushly produced surfaces from paint, paper, collage and machine sewn work. Seong shows us the juxtaposition between imperfections, perfections, and distorted realities to reveal a ‘visible surface’ of the uncanny, the disparate, the unusual, and the monstrous.
