How did you become interested in fashion design?
I have always been drawn to the arts and design since childhood. While my formal education is in Finance, I was able to realize my dream of becoming a jewelry designer during the 2020 Pandemic. Designing and handcrafting jewelry became a form of self-care for me, and it continues to be just that to this day. It is one of the things I am the most passionate about
What's your favorite thing about being a fashion designer?
I love having the freedom to express myself through my designs as an independent designer. Having the ability to take my time with my designs, work on them at my own pace, and perfect them brings me much joy.
How do you stay up-to-date with fashion trends?
While I am up to date on fashion trends, my designs tend to follow more classic looks. I may add a touch of flair, but the goal with my pieces is to provide my clients with pieces they will be comfortable wearing for a lifetime (with proper care). I am a big proponent of sustainable fashion, so this plays a significant role in my design style as well.
What's your favorite material to work with?
My favorite material to work with is raw gold-filled chains. I prefer gold-filled hardware because it is not as expensive as solid gold, but it can last just as long with proper care.
What's your favorite season to design for?
My favorite season to design for is Spring/Summer. I was born in a tropical country, where we have warm weather year-round, so I am naturally drawn to lighter, daintier, fun pieces, which you would typically find styled with Spring and Summer outfits.
