How did you become interested in fashion design?
My interest in fashion design began when I was 12. Frustrated with constantly wearing trousers that were too short—I’m 6’3”—I asked my mom to teach me how to sew. Once I learned to make my own clothes, I was no longer limited to what everyone else was wearing. That freedom sparked my passion for fashion design.
What's your process for designing a new collection?
I don’t believe in creating collections, as I think they contribute to overproduction and overconsumption. Instead, I design new pieces based on inspiration from the materials I discover, reversing the typical design process and save resources at the same time. Every piece I create is unique and stands on its own, rather than being part of a specific collection.
How important is sustainability in your designs?
Sustainability is the cornerstone of my brand. It’s not just a consideration; it’s the guiding principle behind everything I create. From the materials I choose to the design process itself, every decision is made with sustainability in mind. My goal is to minimize environmental impact while producing unique and also wearable pieces.
What's your favorite material to work with?
Stating the obvious: wool blankets.
What's your least favorite color to work with?
For some reason, blue and I just don’t get along—any shade of it. I still work with it, of course, but let's just say blue and I aren’t exactly best friends.
