Helmed by life and work partners, Rynshu and Rieco Yamaji, RYNSHU is a sophisticated Japanese fashion brand which was originally created in 1986 under the name Maji Masatomo. Founder Rynshu honed his creative skills studying at the prestigious Tama Art University in Tokyo and has since gone on to win the silver prize at the Kanebo design awards.
His wife Rieco was an award-winning ballet dancer who performed in shows around the world before moving into costume design, which informs the label’s rich, lustrous fabrics and elegant draping. The spirit of dance and the drama of theater embody RYNSHU’s collections, so make an entrance in the brand’s sharp tailored jackets, blazers and long dresses — decorated with prints and dazzling embellishments.
"RYNSHU’s creation is like a Japanese sword “Katana”. It's beautiful craftsmanship, elegant and simple but it's not for fighting with someone, it's for protecting something important. It's a beautiful Samurai spirit."

What is the biggest learning experience you have had?
Rieco: When I was a ballet dancer, I really loved designing my stage costumes. That experience gave me a good influence for my designer’s life. And I had presented the perfume of “RYNSHU 1217” at Paris Fashion Week in 2020. That’s a turning-point to create the Women's collection with Rynshu.
