MALVA FLOREA BY  MALVA VERBYTSKA

Malva Verbytska, creative director and Malva Florea brand founder. She was born on June 25, 1986 in Lviv, Ukraine. From early childhood, she was marked by extraordinary imagination and creative potential. She studied at the Lviv Academy of Arts at the Tailoring Department. After graduating from the Academy, she started her own brand for the production of evening and prom dresses. In 2018, the rebranding took place, and the designer reached a completely different serious level.

"Now a new stage has begun in the brand. We became more recognizable, entered new foreign markets, in particular the USA one. US customers have responded positively to our brand and this is very gratifying. Our customers over there love and know how to dress stylishly and thereby express themselves."

Why such a brand name?
The first part of the name is the name of the general director, designer of the brand - Malva Verbytska. The second part is translated from Latin as "prosper". Actually, we were looking for a word that would bring development and prosperity and at the same time sound melodious with the first one.

Describe your customer.
Clients are women from big cities, socially active, developing, traveling, discovering something new, self-sufficient, confident, with an inner rod. Connoisseurs of Slow Fashion who prefer more sophisticated quality clothes, who care about eco issues and make a meaningful purchase. In their wardrobe, they need a transformer item that will serve for a long time and that can be styled in different ways.  

What inspires you when creating collections?
The works of world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid inspired the MALVA FLOREA brand with an aim to find self-identity in clothes. The brands collections have become a dare for Malva Verbytska. To break the stereotypes and avoid ordinary forms, relocate Zaha’s architectural solutions on the fabric to create new, complex in respect of design clothes. Inspired by the symbolical and majestic constructions of Zaha in Dubai, she desires to call similar fillings in everyone who will look at the new MALVA FLOREA collection.

How do you see the brand in the future?
Only forward development. Now a new stage has begun in the brand. We became more recognizable, entered new foreign markets, in particular the USA one. US customers have responded positively to our brand and this is very gratifying. Our customers over there love and know how to dress stylishly and thereby express themselves. For our part, we are ready to give our dear women intellectual clothes of the new time that is balancing between contemporary, classical art on the one hand, and sartorial mastery, quality, functionality on the other.

How does the war in Ukraine affect the life of the brand?
Until February 24, 2022, we lived a normal life and made big plans for our brand MALVA FLOREA. The life of all Ukrainians was divided into "Before" and "After". We partially repurposed production and produce military uniforms for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for non-commercial purposes. We also donate 50% of the profit to the needs of the army. A great state begins with each of us. For us, responsibility to ourselves, family and team is the main catalyst and impetus to work! Every new day for us begins with thanks to everyone who supports and defends our country. Thanks to them, we can do what we love.
