"I find a lot of inspiration in watching movies, especially classics and horror. Music is an infinite source, everything from rap, electronic music, techno, pop. Books with esoteric narrative, the history of a garment, where and why something has been created in that particular realm. "

BEATRICE DODI
MINI INTERVIEW

What do you love about being a jewelry designer?

It is a form of meditation. It allows me to sculpt a vision into a metal object, it is an alchemy of a revelation. A dream that comes true.

Where do you look for creative inspiration?

Everywhere. The sky is the limit. Literally everywhere I look. In the city landscape, the smell, the colours I see around me. I find a lot of inspiration in watching movies, especially classics and horror. Music is an infinite source, everything from rap, electronic music, techno, pop. Books with esoteric narrative, the history of a garment, where and why something has been created in that particular realm.

How would you describe BDODI’s aesthetics?

Dark, Irreverent, Refined, Tribal, Futuristic.

Who is your style icon and why?

It is tricky to pinpoint one. I would say Isabella Blow and Michelle Lamy. Isabella Blow because of her eclectic taste and superb elegance. Michelle Lamy because of her tribal influences. She has such a strong personality. I would love to meet her one day.
